Technical & Maintenance Services
The role of a hotel’s maintenance department is to ensure that all facilities and equipment are maintained in good condition and are functioning smoothly in order to reduce the risk of interruptions to the hotel’s operations.
Maintenance of the building is extremely crucial, as its effectiveness will directly affect the quality of services, which in turn can have a significant effect on satisfying customers’ wants and expectations. Proper maintenance management is essential for hotel operations.
With the world currently in a state of flux, anticipating the changes as a result of COVID-19 is critical to be ahead of the curve.
Hotels have already started implementing regimens and protocols; with the safety of their guests and staff at the forefront of their efforts.
Reorganizing operations, however, can be a completely overwhelming task.
Since 1982, our main priority at FCS is to improve the operations of hotels around the world. We would like to ease the burden, by reaching out a helping hand to our hospitality industry colleagues and friends, using official guidelines to ensure full compliance.

Water disinfection
It is necessary to maintain the concentration of disinfectant in water for consumption and in pools or spas within the limits recommended according to international norms and standards. Upper limits of the range preferable.
Dishwashing and laundry equipment
It is necessary to ensure all equipment is in full working order and running at optimal temperatures using the correct dosage of cleaning and disinfectant materials.
Air-conditioning
It is recommended, as in normal circumstances, that the condition of filters are regularly monitored and there is a proper replacement rate of indoor air.
Dispensers
Regular inspections to ensure proper function and quality of dispensers, hand dryers, disposable tissue and dispensers. Defunct units should be replaced rapidly.
With there being so many moving parts and a wide range of areas to look after, it can be hard for maintenance teams to stay on top of things.
Stay ahead with Preventive Maintenance
With there being so many moving parts and a wide range of areas to look after, it can be hard for maintenance teams to stay on top of things. Preventative Maintenance is one of the best ways to manage this. However, this can be a very time-consuming process and one that can be hard to keep track of accurately. FCS Engineering can make this a lot easier.
The Preventative Maintenance module in our solution allows hotels to set up their Preventive Maintenance program, and edit and adjust it as need be, which is particularly important in the current environment as businesses adapt to the change in procedures. Once set, reminders and prompts will allow the team to know what needs to be done and when, and helps you stay on top of the work needed.
Preventive maintenance makes sure that equipment are regularly checked and maintained, thereby extending the life span of assets. In the long run, operations costs are also reduced significantly, as there is no need to replace or repair equipment frequently. More importantly, with proper maintenance of assets, equipment malfunction incidents can be reduced, ensuring the continued safety of both staff and guests.
Now, even with a strong Preventive Maintenance program, we know things can go wrong and break down. With FCS Engineering, you can log these jobs and keep track of their progress and what needs to be done to complete the task.
Reporting features allow you to produce the supporting data needed when making your business plan for your capital works proposal.
With FCS Engineering’s optional QR/Barcode capabilities, portable equipment such as vacuum cleaners can be looked up easily, and returned to the dedicated storage locations, minimizing the risk of loss or misplaced equipment. This also saves the hotel costs for replacing lost equipment.
You can also keep records of the jobs and their cost. This will make it easy to track what has been done and to identify recurring problems that might need a different approach or a part replaced.
When an item of machinery needs to be replaced, the reporting features allow you to produce the supporting data needed when making your business plan for your proposal.
